I loved this book so much. It was such a powerful and important read. The author really brought Starr to life. It opens our eyes to what is happening around us. I believe everyone should read this book. It has a very powerful message that needs to be heard. 100000000% recommend it.
5/5 stars.
Don't forget to read the book so you can go watch The Hate U Give in theatres October 19, 2018, starring Amandla Stenberg.
"Sometimes you can do everything right and things will still go wrong. The key is to never stop doing right." -The Hate U Give
Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighbourhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed.
Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil's name. Some cops and the local drug lord try to intimidate Starr and her family. What everyone wants to know is: what really went down that night? And the only person alive who can answer that is Starr.
But what Starr does or does not say could upend her community. It could also endanger her life.

This series is such a ride!!! This is a fantasy you wish you were in but yet you're happy that you're not. It is an amazing series for anyone who loves fantasy. Celeana Sardothien is an unforgettable character. This book and series has plot twists that you would have never seen coming. I would definitely recommend reading it
5/5 stars
There are 8 books including 1 prequel. The last book "Kingdom of Ash" will be released October 23rd, 2018.
“You could rattle the stars," she whispered. "You could do anything, if only you dared. And deep down, you know it, too. That’s what scares you most.”
After serving out a year of hard labour in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.
Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her ... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead ... quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

TWILIGHT SAGA

By: Stephanie Meyer

Twilight (Twilight, #1)

Please don't hate me. I personally loved twilight. It is the base of ya books. As cheesy and twilighty ( I couldn't think of a better noun) twilight is, it is a book that you should read. It gives you all the feels. It is a timeless tale that was made for the sole purpose of being enjoyed.
5/5 stars
"I like the night. Without the dark, we'd never see the stars." -Twilight
About three things I was absolutely positive.
First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him—and I didn't know how dominant that part might be—that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
In the first book of the Twilight Saga, internationally bestselling author Stephenie Meyer introduces Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, a pair of star-crossed lovers whose forbidden relationship ripens against the backdrop of small-town suspicion and a mysterious coven of vampires. This is a love story with bite.

ELIZA AND HER MONSTERS

By: Francesa Zappia

Eliza and Her Monsters

This is a pretty unknown book. It is not a bestseller but it was so good. It is very memorable. Eliza is such a real character that we can all relate to. The book deals with some very real issues and at the end, it did make me cry.  I laughed and cried and had such a great time reading it. I read it in one sitting. I would definitely recommend this book!
5/5 stars
"Broken people don't hide from their monsters. Broken people let themselves be eaten."  -Eliza and Her Monsters
In the real world, Eliza Mirk is shy, weird, and friendless. Online, she’s LadyConstellation, the anonymous creator of the wildly popular webcomic Monstrous Sea. Eliza can’t imagine enjoying the real world as much as she loves the online one, and she has no desire to try.
Then Wallace Warland, Monstrous Sea’s biggest fanfiction writer, transfers to her school. Wallace thinks Eliza is just another fan, and as he draws her out of her shell, she begins to wonder if a life offline might be worthwhile.
But when Eliza’s secret is accidentally shared with the world, everything she’s built—her story, her relationship with Wallace, and even her sanity—begins to fall apart.

HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY

By: Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)

Dystopian books like this make us scared for the future of humanity.  I enjoyed reading this trilogy so much. Although the ending of Mockingjay left me wanting more. I don't know what else to say other than read the book!

Divergent teaches us that being different from society is ok. Tris is such an amazing role model and we can't help but fall in love with Four and all the relationships that Tris builds. The way that Veronica Roth wrote the book, makes you feel like you are in Chicago with Tris the entire time. If you are a fan of hunger games you will love this book. -Divergent
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

By the original 3, I mean The Selection, The Elite and The One. I loved this series so much. it is the classic romance and America and Maxon were made for each other. I had a blast reading it and I really wished that I could be in a selection. All the characters were very lovable. THE FAULT IN OUR STARS

By: John Green

The Fault in Our Stars

The fault in our stars is an unforgettable book about love. You go into the book thinking you are prepared for whatever ending John Green throws at you but by the time you are done you have no more tears left to cry. Hazel and Gus are such lovable charcters that did not deserve what happened to them. I would 100% reccomend this to anyone.
5/5 stars
“You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world...but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices." -The Fault in Our Stars
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.
Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning author John Green's most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.
